Tag Heuer launched the original Carrera Chronograph in 1963 as a tribute to the epic road race known as the Carrera Panamericana. Though thoroughly updated, this modern version echoes the clean lines and sober elegance of the original. The large polished steel case holds a black dial with luminescent diamond-set hands, hand-applied indexes, and an automatic date display at the three o'clock hour. Three circular subdials display chronograph hours and minutes and small seconds. The dial is capped with a virtually scratch-proof sapphire crystal and framed by a black bezel with tachymeter readings. A fluted crown, identical to that on the original model, is designed for easy handling. This watch is showcased on a handsome and durable brushed steel bracelet with polished accents. Calibre 16 automatic chronograph movement, visible through the see-through caseback, delivers excellent precision.

It is a quality authentic watch in brand new condition as advertised. Saved a considerable amount of money compared to purchasing through an authorized dealer. By purchasing from non-authorized retailers you do not get a warranty card and cannot have your watch repaired by TAG. Also, you do not know the origin of the watch. I only bought the watch through Amazon because it was sold by Amazon a reliable company. I would take extra caution in buying such a product from an Amazon retailer. Has Tag name and cache but it is defective. The crown popped off three times in the last year. The first time only 4 months after I purchased it. Been repaired under warranty but only as a courtesy as only the movement is covered by this non-authorized warranty. Be very careful purchasing this watch from a non-authorized seller as you do not get the Tag warranty. Looks and feels fantastic. Have had many compliments and people asking about it. Work in the mining industry and wear it everyday under pretty extreme conditions - extremely hot and dusty in NW Australia. Wear it at work, in the surf and out to dinner and never misses a beat. Not a single scratch on it. Would certainly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a quality time-piece.
